His Majesty King Mswati III pleaded for peace and global harmony when he was addressing throngs of emaSwati gathered during his 56th Birthday celebrations, held with style at Mankayane Stadium.

Embracing the theme of peace, His Majesty shared the importance of this invaluable gift, where the King emphasized its pivotal role in strengthening unity, progress, and global prosperity.

“Every year, I ask emaSwati for the most precious gift of all—peace. I would like to use this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude for honouring me with this wish.

” Declared the King. His Majesty also expressed that its transformative impact has enabled the country to refocus its efforts on the primary goal of improving people’s lives and advancing towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“As a result, the country has been able to refocus on its primary goal of improving people’s lives by making significant progress towards the sustainable development goals (SDGs),” said the King.

As the world prepares to commemorate the 2024 International Peace Day, His Majesty urged emaSwati to emerge as a bright spot, illuminating the path towards global harmony.

Under the theme “Actions for Peace: Our Commitment to the #GlobalGoals,” His Majesty called upon all citizens to pursue the SDGs with passion and dedication, recognizing their profound implications for addressing the root causes of conflict and promoting lasting peace.

His Majesty acknowledged the prevailing conflicts and tensions across the globe and emphasized the collective responsibility to work together as a global community, serving as agents of positive change and advocates for peace.

Upholding essential values of tolerance, humility, dialogue, and respect, His Majesty urged stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogue and strengthen understanding, even in the face of differing views.

“Considering all the world conflicts and tensions, we must continue to work together and serve as a beacon of hope for humanity by taking the initiative in fulfilling global peace,” remarked His Majesty. “When faced with different views, let us keep our essential values of tolerance, humility, dialogue, and respect in all our efforts.”

The Monarch urged the global community and its agencies to redouble their efforts in achieving the SDGs and resolving conflicts expeditiously, thereby preventing further loss of human life and safeguarding the future of generations to come.

“We therefore urge the global community and all of its agencies to make every effort to achieve our SDGs and resolve conflicts as quickly as possible in order to prevent future loss of human life.”

King pledges to lead nation with utmost dedication

His Majesty King Mswati III when delivering his remarks during his 56th Birthday celebrations, pledged to the people of Eswatini and emphasized his massive commitment to serving the nation with dedication and integrity.

Addressing thousands gathered at Mankayane Stadium, the King expressed his role as a leader entrusted to guide emaSwati towards progress and prosperity.

“As King, entrusted to lead Emaswati, I pledge to continue to lead with the best interest of the people at heart and in the footsteps of my predecessors,” declared His Majesty, eliciting resounding “Bayethe” from throngs of emaSwati at the stadium.

The King highlighted the timeless adage ingrained in Eswatini’s cultural ethos which is “Inkhosi, yinkhosi ngebantfu” (The King is a King because of the people), and he emphasized the symbiotic relationship between the monarch and the people.

The King reflected on the nation’s journey towards development and stated the importance of collective action and unity in pursuit of common goals.

He urged emaSwati to rally together and harness their collective potential to effect positive change in their communities and emphasized that true progress stems from a shared commitment to improving lives and strengthening prosperity.

Addressing the imperative of economic growth, His Majesty emphasized the need for concerted efforts to achieve ambitious targets.

With a nod to the “Nkwe philosophy”, which embodies speed, agility, and efficiency, the King urged emaSwati to embrace a good approach in all endeavours, recognizing that time is of the essence in realizing the nation’s aspirations.

“We should not lose sight of the over five per cent economic growth target,” expressed His Majesty King Mswati III, highlighting the significance of collective effort in driving sustainable development.

The King viewed the pivotal role of government initiatives and poverty-relief funds in facilitating progress, and he expressed confidence that with coordinated action, Eswatini could make significant strides towards becoming a developed country.

His Majesty King Mswati III took centre stage as he cut his birthday cake, surrounded by members of the royal family who joined in the joyous celebration.

As part of Eswatini’s tradition, His Majesty King Mswati III was honoured with gifts and donations from various entities and individuals during the ‘Kwetfula’ custom held at the Mandvulo Grand Hall following his 56th birthday celebrations which were held at Mankayane Stadium on Friday.
