The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo, officiated the opening of Rehoboth, a boutique marking its maiden physical store in Pigg’s Peak.

Amidst the backdrop of economic dynamism, Minister Khumalo stated the Ministry’s devotion to strengthen an environment conducive to the growth and success of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

“Rehoboth is a Swati owned establishment, a testament to the incredible entrepreneurial spirit and drive that we have here in Eswatini,” declared Khumalo.

“Rehoboth Boutique is a haven for fashionable clothes and accessories, catering to the needs of women from all walks of life.”

Minister Khumalo then made emphasis on the pivotal role of MSMEs in driving economic prosperity and he highlighted the Ministry’s dedication to empowering local businesses, as outlined in the revised MSME National Policy and Citizens Economic Empowerment Act.

“The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade is dedicated to creating an atmosphere that will allow MSMEs to grow and succeed,” affirmed Minister Khumalo.

“At Rehoboth Boutique, the mission is simple but powerful,” stated Minister Khumalo.

“They aim to enhance confidence and empower women to creatively express themselves through coordinating their looks and owning their style.”

Pigg’s Peak, a town undergoing rapid expansion, presents fertile ground for new ventures like Rehoboth Boutique to flourish.

Minister Mancoba Khumalo expressed hope about the boutique’s potential to contribute to the town’s economic growth and youth empowerment.

“Pigg’s Peak is a town that is aggressively expanding, and as a new business, this is an opportunity for the Boutique to grow alongside it,” said the Minister.

“There are immense opportunities in this town, and by employing the youth, particularly young ladies, Rehoboth can contribute to the economy of Eswatini while creating employment opportunities.”

The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo, alongside Speaker and Pigg’s Peak Member of Parliament, Jabulani Mabuza, toured various small businesses within the new complex in Pigg’s Peak.

During the visit, Khumalo and Speaker Mabuza immersed themselves in discussions with local entrepreneurs, having discussion about their concerns and aspirations in business.

The tour provided an invaluable opportunity to gain firsthand insights into the dynamics of the local business landscape for the Minister.

“The purpose of the tour was to gain a better understanding of the local business landscape and to show support for small businesses in the area,” reads a statement shared by the Ministry on their Facebook page.

“The Minister recognize the important role that small businesses play in driving economic growth and creating employment opportunities.”
