According to police sources, two men allegedly contacted the man of the cloth, claiming to possess a high-profile file sourced from leaked financial documents at the Eswatini Financial Intelligence Unit (EFIU) on Tuesday.

Lukhele’s name has featured prominently in the leaked documents under the so-called ‘Swazi Secrets’ by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICU).
Eswatini Daily News cannot repeat some of the allegations contained in the leaked documents which have been widely reported in some online newspapers and social media platforms.
The sources informed Eswatini Daily News (EDN) that Bishop Lukhele, who is also known in football circles as the former President of Mbabane Swallows Football Club, then informed the police after receiving the call.
However, the Bishop went along with the plan and promised to give them the E230,000 they demanded in return for the supposedly leaked high-profile file.
“The two had given the bishop the location where they will be, which is where the representatives from the Mbabane Police Station were able to arrest them while the extortion attempt was in progress,” disclosed the source to EDN.
