In a bid to professionalise the sport, The Premier League of Eswatini has renewed vows with Eswatini TV.

The two parties have ventured into a three-match broadcast trial that will see the live broadcast of three MTN Premier League matches starting with the game five fixture between Mbabane Highlanders and Sisonkhe FC on Sunday at King Sobhuza II Stadium.

The new partnership was launched on Tuesday at Sigwaca House.

The two parties once had partnerships during the eras of two former Chairmen, the late Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze and Mark Carmicheal.

PLE Chairman Polycarp Dlamini said the move is aimed at professionalising the sport.

“We are confident that the new project will yield positive results as we strive to take the sport to the next level.

We are confident that this project will be a success and boost our coffers so that teams can get monthly grants like in other countries such as South Africa,” he said.

Dlamini was flanked by three executive members in Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane, Sibusiso ‘Scorpion’ Nxumalo and Melusi Dlamini.

Nxumalo stated that they will announce the two other pilot matches upon consultation with MTN Eswatini.

Meanwhile, Eswatini TV Senior Marketing Manager Nomcebo Mbhamali said they are happy with the new partnership.

“We promise to deliver a quality product that will expose local players to international markets,” she said.
