As of this week, Mbabane Highlanders have stopped its training sessions.

This follows internal squabbles allegedly spearheaded by the club’s interim National Supporters Committee (NSC) Chairman Mfanuzile ‘Fash’ Dlamini with a handful others who even served the club at one time but under different directors. Kgomongwe felt he was being forced out by Fash and company.

“I’m giving them a chance since they want that. We’re playing Young Buffaloes next, and they can have the team they want for that match and the next even,” said Kgomongwe on Tuesday.

He said while his official statement about the whole ordeal would be out on Thursday once he had met the Patrons and other stakeholders, for now it was fine for him to lock up the clubhouse, take his Mercedes Benz Sprinter, training equipment and players.

It is anticipated Kgomongwe’s team would continue with training while away.

He also wondered what the faction really planned because he could just keep the team away for as long as three weeks, which could spell disaster when they should be trying to get out of the current losing streak.

Meanwhile, a close source to the club said they could be leaving the country on Wednesday.

Kgomongwe said he would have the players send their weekend in Pretoria while those wanting him out prepared their own team.

Meanwhile, Kgomongwe has the backing of the players, patrons, management committee and most of the team’s supporters who understand what it would mean if he left now.

“We couldn’t continue training under the circumstances. The MD suspended training, and he’s taking the Sprinter bus and training equipment to Pretoria.

The players signed by him are also going to Pretoria until further notice,” affirmed another source within the club.

Kgomongwe insisted that there was no resignation from him, but he was ready to step back and watch from afar as these supporters were keen to lead.

Kgomongwe explained that after meeting with all stakeholders, all Highlanders people, emaSwati, and the football authorities would know what the real position was.

Now, he was only giving Fash and company a chance to take the club to training and two official matches.
