Eswatini Mobile has reinforced its commitment to youth empowerment by launching a fully paid internship programme that will provide 10 University of Eswatini (UNESWA) students with three months of practical workplace experience across the Inyatsi Group of Companies.

The initiative, unveiled at Inyatsi House on Wednesday, is a partnership between Eswatini Mobile, Inyatsi Group Holdings and UNESWA aimed at equipping students with industry experience while addressing graduate unemployment. The programme combines paid work placements with structured mentorship, leadership coaching and professional development to help students transition from university into meaningful careers.
Speaking during the launch, Eswatini Mobile Chief Executive Officer Sydney Sichula said the company believes its role extends beyond providing affordable telecommunications services to making a lasting impact on people’s lives.
“We are not simply a telecommunications company. We are investing in people because people are the foundation of national development,” he said.
Sichula noted that youth unemployment remains one of Eswatini’s greatest challenges, with national figures estimated at between 56 and 58.7 per cent. He said every opportunity created has the potential to transform not only the lives of individual students but also their families and communities.

“Ten students may appear to be a small number, but every opportunity created changes a family, strengthens communities and contributes towards a stronger Eswatini,” he said.
He emphasised that the programme was designed to give participants meaningful workplace responsibilities rather than observational roles.
Sichula further said the paid internship programme will give students practical experience, mentorship and exposure to real projects across the Inyatsi Group. Participants will work in sectors including engineering, finance and telecommunications as part of a partnership between the private sector, Government and academia to strengthen employability and develop Eswatini’s future workforce.
