Manzini North MP Macford Sibandze teamed up with Kukhanya Okusha Church led by Former Commerce Minister Gideon Dlamini to donate to a young boy of 15 who was hit by a stray bullet in the recent unrest.
The church raised about E3000 of which E2000 was spent on food and E1000 donated as cash. The event took place at Sicelwini which coincidentally is MP Sibandze’s strong hold. The Lukhele boy, a student at Hillside High School is still traumatized by the incident. His mother thanked the Church and the MP for the donation. Former Minister Gideon Dlamini said the church was touched by the boy’s ordeal on Facebook and decided to contribute.
He told the boy, “You are lucky to have an MP like Macford who will always rise to the occasion on issues that touch the people.” Pastor Gideon continued to say that the church has to respond to the plight of the community.
MP Sibandze said Government should be proactive and create a data base of all victims of the unrest and also establish a fund to cater for the casualties of the unrest.
