School opening postponed to January 24

The Ministry of Education has given parents more time to look for spaces in the various schools for their children.

This comes after the Minister of Education and Training Lady Howard-Mabuza announced that the date for the opening of schools has been postponed to January 24.

Initially, parents had been informed that the date for the opening of schools for the 2023 academic year was January 17. The minister made the announcement when she was presenting the external examination results for both the Eswatini Primary Certificate (EPC) and Junior Certificate (JC) for the year 2022.

The new date for the opening of schools is a relief to parents as they usually raise a concern that they were not given enough time to look for spaces.

Meanwhile, the minister said as the successful learners will be looking for places in Form 1 and Form 4, all head teachers were advised to follow the ministry’s policies and procedures by admitting all qualifying pupils regardless of the pass categories.
