Stars continue to align for Eswatini musician Sancheziey following the explosive response to his “Siyabonga Gogo Remix”, which has surpassed 205,000 views on YouTube just months after its release.
Released on December 20, 2025, the remix has steadily grown into one of the standout collaborative music projects to emerge from Eswatini, attracting attention for its blend of established musical voices, contemporary hip-hop and choral artistry.
The project brings together an eclectic collection of talent, including legendary vocalist Lodanda, rising hip-hop star Young Zesh and the Limkokwing Choir.
Together, the artists give the song several distinct dimensions, combining traditional emotional expression with contemporary sounds and the richness of a full choral arrangement.
For Sancheziey, the creative process was driven by a simple but ambitious question: “Can a beautiful thing be made even more beautiful?” The answer, judging by the response to the remix, has been an emphatic yes.
At the centre of that vision was his encounter with the Limkokwing Choir.
Sancheziey said he was profoundly moved after witnessing the choir perform the song during a university graduation ceremony. 
The performance, he explained, gave him a different appreciation of the composition and inspired him to explore what could happen if the choir became part of a new version.
“The choir gave me a taste that I couldn’t rest. They made the song sound different in a very beautiful way,” Sancheziey reflected.
The project also carries particular significance because of the return of Lodanda to the recording studio.
Known for her emotionally charged voice and longstanding contribution to Eswatini’s music landscape, Lodanda’s appearance on “Siyabonga Gogo Remix” marked her first studio recording since 2015.
For Sancheziey, working with Lodanda was both a dream and a challenge. The producer admitted that he was initially uncertain about approaching an artist he had admired for years but had never personally met.
The connection was eventually made possible through Lindelwa Mafa, who helped facilitate the collaboration.
What followed was a meeting of different generations of musicians united by a song that Sancheziey believed could be given a new lease of life.
Lodanda’s contribution, according to Sancheziey, was important because of the emotional history listeners associate with her voice.
“Lodanda in the song brings this emotional touch that will take every listener to moments with her grandmother,” he said.
While Lodanda supplies the emotional weight, Young Zesh brings a markedly contemporary energy to the track.
The young rapper, who has been making his presence felt within Eswatini’s hip-hop scene, contributes a modern flow that contrasts with the choral and melodic elements of the song.
Sancheziey praised Young Zesh for his ability to introduce hip-hop into the production without disrupting its musical character.
He described the rapper’s contribution as bringing “the fashioned hip-hop flows while in line with the beauty of Lisiko Lekucelwa.”
