The Ministry of Education and Training has officially released the approved school calendar for the year 2027 following approval by Cabinet under Cabinet Paper No. CPN/MOET/174/2026. Issued by Principal Secretary Nanikie Mnisi, the announcement is set to guide the general public, private organisations, and all other interested parties in their planning and preparation for the upcoming academic year.
The academic year is structured into three distinct terms. The first term will commence on 26 January 2027 and conclude on 9 April 2027. Following a brief break, the second term is scheduled to open on 4 May 2027, featuring a mid-term break from 21 to 25 June 2027, before officially closing on 6 August 2027. Finally, the third term will begin on 8 September 2027 and wrap up the academic year with its closing date on 3 December 2027.
School administrators, parents, and stakeholders are advised to use these official dates for their reference and organisational planning.
