As we are all excited about attending the MTN BUSHFIRE Festival tomorrow (Friday, 25 May 2018) we all want to be seen kutsi vele nginalo nami. Not that we jealous or what but question is, have people consider the fact that they post their ticket showing the barcode as well?
According to Wikipedia A barcode (also barcode) is an optical, machine-readable, representation of data; the data usually describes something about the object that carries the barcode. Traditional barcodes systematically represented data by varying the widths and spacings of parallel lines and may be referred to as linear or one-dimensional (1D).
In this case, we have seen how the MTN BUSHFIRE Tickets are designed and we have seen a number of few tickets being posted on Facebook including WhatsApp, people are indeed excited about attending this years event. To the once that were lucky we did warn them based on them sharing their tickets as this might mean giving away that ticket.
Please note that we haven’t tested this and we believe maybe their system is much advanced to detect or maybe they have another way to see original tickets. But according to us, after seeing the posted tickets we believe any scan can easily detect the barcodes that are shown on those tickets. Which is more like showing people your pin number or your card number. Yes, we know you will be attending but think smart and know that we are going to 2022 which means the world improving with technology. So do let us know what you think by leaving a comment below.
