THE 3rd ANNUAL MBOMBELA JAZZ FESTIVAL, WHERE JAZZ MEETS SOUL

The Kwazulu Natal song of the Year award winner Sjava, who is riding high on the charts with his smash hits has been added to the already impressive lineup for the 3rd Annual Mbombela Jazz Festival scheduled to  take place on 7 September at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga.

The festival is again expected to thrill the crowds with the headline performance by USA born Dr Syleena Johnson supported by Mpumalanga born Indlovukazi, Kayzo, Chilla Flamez, eSwatini born Amanda Mo and KZN Brenda Mtambo.

The 2019 lineup consists of legends and hit-makers across variety of genres. This is a testament that Mbombela Jazz Festival is an event not to be missed. It is for everyone in the City of Mbombela, neighboring provinces and countries like the Kingdom of eSwatini and Mozambique.

Over and above the festival, the line up of other events includes the following:

  • The Annual Ray Phiri Annual Memorial Lecture to be delivered by the world sort after conference speaker Professor PLO Lumumba from Kenya;
  • The Mbombela Annual Jazz Festival Charity Golf Day where proceeds of that tournament will go towards buying school shoes for the needy children in rural communities of Mpumalanga; and
  • Black & Gold Picnic to at Driekoppies Dam in Nkomazi Municipality

The Mbombela Jazz Festival was established in 2017, a partnership between Harmocept Holdings and the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency. Over the years it has attracted more than 6 000 people and has hosted a mixture of emerging and established artists from Mpumalanga Province and neighboring countries.  The Festival aims to celebrate all that is African, contributing to the maintenance of cultural heritage and diversity.

Tickets are available from Shoprite, Checkers and Computicket nationwide at R275 each for the main Jazz Festival and R150 each for the Black & Gold Jam Session.
