“Buy Cash” Pleads With Arsonists to Stop Burning His Shops

Eswatini Daily News

Honourable Jabulani Mabuza, owner of Buy Cash Hardware pleads with arsonists to stop burning his shops. He says he started his business with his wife with the aim of creating employment and to serve the nation by bringing goods and services closer to people. The destruction of his business is not only affecting him, but it affects a lot of other people. The employees and their families are affected and the for-hire and truck owners are also affected. The community is also adversely affected because they now have to travel far to buy goods. He refuted allegations that he owns the business with other individuals. He said the business is owned by him and his wife. He is just serving his brothers and sisters in the country.

Other business owners and community members at Bhunya are at a loss for words about the targeted arson attacks against “Buy Cash”. A Mbabane business man said “enough is enough, Mabuza does not deserve to be treated like this. He is such a humble, kind, generous man.” Buy Cash Hardware stores have suffered a series of targeted arson attacks by unknown arsonist. In the early hours of yesterday Monday at Bhunya, Buy Cash Hardware was reported to have been torched by unknown arsonist. Just recently the Pigs Peak branch and Hlathikhulu branch were burnt to ashes.

Emaswati employed at the stores lost their jobs over night. As the arson attacks on local businesses continue, more Emaswati are losing jobs. Minister of Commerce, Manqoba Khumalo has pleaded with those who are attacking businesses to stop doing so. The Minister emphasized that businesses create employment and therefore should be protected. Even if we hold different opinions about issues in the country, that should not drive us to destroy businesses and the economy, because it will take years to rebuild.
