Payment of Elderly Grants Delayed

By: EDN Reporter

The system failures experienced at the government level have caused a delay in the payment of elderly grants.

In a press statement issued on Monday, the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office notified all recipients of elderly grants who normally received their money on the 20th of each month that due to system failures, the office will delaying in disbursing the grants.

The DPM’s Office assured that technicians are working around the clock to restore the system so that the grants are paid immediately. “The office requests patience while this issue is being resolved. Any convenience is deeply regretted,” reads part of the statement.

The sad news comes at a time when consumers and members of the public at large are looking forward to this coming Friday. Known as Black Friday, members of the public look forward to this day as they are able to purchase a variety of items at the lowest of prices.
