Eswatini Russian-based Boxer Thabiso Dlamini gets into action today in the World Boxing Tour Golden Belt Series Tournament currently ongoing in Rabat Morocco.
Dlamini, who has been undergoing intensive training in Russia for the past three months courtesy of a scholarship provided by the IBA President through a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Eswatini Olympics and Commonwealth Games Association will face the winner between Boniface from Seychelles and Anbeeh from Libya who was due to fight on Thursday afternoon.
Eswatini Boxing Association (EBA) Secretary Nathi Dlamini said the boxer arrived safely in Morroco from Russia and he was well settled in Rabat.
“We trust he will do his best since he was on a camp in Russia, and he declared that can’t wait to be in the ring. We are hopeful for positive results,” he said.
Dlamini has been one of the dominant boxers in the country and his hard work earned him a scholarship from the International Boxing Association (IBA) that will keep his training in Russia and competing in some international tournaments.
The tournament will be taking place in Marrakech from 31 January to 11 February 2023.
