Sihlangu head coach Dominic Kunene says they will be able to gauge their readiness for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Botswana.

He said this ahead of the international friendly match against the ‘Zebras’ on Monday at Lobatse Stadium, kick-off 4pm. This is the second international finely for Sihlangu after the goalless draw against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on Friday evening.

“We will be able to assess ourselves against Botswana so that we can assess our level of fitness and readiness for the World Cup qualifiers. We are grateful to the Eswatini Football Association for securing the friendly match for us,” he said.

“I am pleased with the commitment that was shown by the players on Friday which boosted our confidence ahead of the qualifiers. We will continue working hard in polishing the grey areas in the team,” he said.
The nation’s pride will begin its World Cup qualifiers with back-to-back clashes against Libya and Cape Verde in November.

The team left the country on Wednesday, and they are now in Botswana preparing for Monday’s clash against the Zebras of Botswana.

The next global showpiece, the World Cup, will be jointly hosted by the United States of America (USA), Canada and Mexico.
