. . . The event is slated for Friday at Happy Valley Hotel in Ezulwini
Commissioner of South African Revenue Service (SARS) Dr. Ngobani Johnstone Makhubu will grace the Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) 2026 Client Appreciation Day on Friday.
The 4th Annual Client Appreciation will be held at Happy Valley Hotel in Ezulwini on Friday under the theme ‘Stars of Compliance: Honouring Clients who Build Eswatini’.
The programme expected to run from 5:30pm to 9:30pm, will include a keynote address by Honourable Neal Rijkenberg, Minister of Finance, who is expected to thank compliant taxpayers for their contribution to the fiscus , which enables delivery of essential services to Emaswati
The annual event recognises taxpayers, traders and partners who have shown sustained commitment to voluntary compliance and who continue to support Eswatini’s revenue system.

Client Appreciation Day is one of ERS’s flagship stakeholder engagement platforms. It allows the organisation to thank clients who meet their tax and customs obligations and contribute to the national fiscus, which funds essential public services and national development priorities.
ERS Commissioner General, Brightwell Nkambule, said the event is not only about awards, but about strengthening the relationship between ERS and the clients it serves.
“Compliance is easier to sustain when it is built on trust, clarity and partnership. Through Client Appreciation Day, we are thanking clients who have consistently done the right thing and encouraging more businesses and individuals to see compliance as a direct contribution to Eswatini’s development,” he said.
ERS will also host Dr Ngobani Johnstone Makhubu, the Commissioner of the South African Revenue Service (SARS), who is expected to share insights on trade facilitation, the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) Programme, seamless border processes and tax administration collaboration between Eswatini and South Africa.
Another major highlight will be the accreditation of 15 companies into the ERS Customs AEO Programme. The AEO Programme recognises compliant traders and supports smoother, more secure and more efficient trade processes.
Awards will be presented to compliant clients across economic sectors and business sizes.
These include wholesale and retail trade; manufacturing, mining and industrial; information and communication technology; financial and insurance services; construction; agriculture, forestry and fishing; education, health and social work; real estate; professional, scientific, technical and support services; transportation and storage; accommodation and food services; and other services.
Recognition will also cover regional micro clients, partner entities, clearing agents, sole traders and the Overall Highest Contributor. Business-size categories will include Large, Large-Medium, Medium, Small and Micro.

To preserve the credibility of the awards, ERS applies a strict selection and verification process based on compliance performance throughout the previous financial year. A winner must have filed returns and paid obligations on time, have no outstanding debts and have no tax disputes.
These criteria ensure that recognition is based on consistent compliance and good standing, not isolated performance.
Stakeholders and members of the public are invited to follow proceedings through live coverage on ERS’s Facebook and YouTube pages. Further updates will be shared on ERS channels ahead of the event.
