Mbabane Swallows head coach Caleb Ngwenya is on his way out of the ‘Birds’ nest.
The veteran mentor is linked with a move to the sugar belt side for next season.
Ubombo Sugar recently parted ways with former Baroka Coach Milton Dlamini.
A source close to the matter revealed that the Sihlangu assistant coach is leading the race to join Ubombo Sugar.
“Caleb is the favourite for the head coach position at Ubombo Sugar, and he is talking with the club’s senior officials,” the source said.
Ubombo Sugar FC Public Relations Officer Jada Smith said she was yet to learn the news.
“We haven’t engaged Caleb Ngwenya, but we are still in talks with several candidates for the head coach position. We will announce our new head coach once we have concluded the ongoing recruitment exercise,” she said.
Swallows Public Relations Officer Knowledge Ngwenya could not be reached for comment when compiling this report, after his cellphone rang unanswered.
Ngwenya once won the 2023/24 MTN Premier League title with the capital city giants and led the red and white glamour side to the first round of the 2024 CAF Champions League.
He is part of the interim Sihlangu technical bench headed by Friday Myeni.
