:Eswatini make-up artist Nomzamo “Zamo” Dlamini has celebrated a major career breakthrough after being crowned Make-Up Artist of the Year at the 2026 Basadi in Music Awards in South Africa.
The recognition marks a significant milestone in Dlamini’s career, particularly because it is her first make-up award determined through public voting.
The award was presented during the fifth annual Basadi in Music Awards, held on August 7 and 8, 2026, at the Joburg Theatre in Johannesburg.
The awards celebrate women who have made notable contributions to music, entertainment and the broader creative industry, bringing together some of the region’s leading female talents and professionals.
For Nomzamo Dlamini, being recognised on such a platform represents the culmination of years of work in an industry where make-up artists play a crucial role in shaping the appearance and presentation of performers, personalities and public figures.
Speaking to Yano Lyrics shortly after her victory, an elated “Zaza” said she was excited about the recognition and particularly appreciated the fact that the award had been determined through public voting.
“I feel excited. Firstly, this is my first ever make-up award that I was voted for, rather, and God is good, man,” she said.
Taking to social media after the ceremony, she expressed her appreciation to the Basadi in Music Awards and her team at Spotless Beauty, celebrating the achievement as a collective victory.
“Thank you so much Basadi In Music Awards. Team Spotless Beauty, this one is for you,” she wrote.
