‘Birds’ recall axed Mabila
By Chris Dlamini
Just a few days after unceremoniously parting ways with senior defender Sifiso Mabila, Mbabane Swallows has been forced to recall him.
The seasoned and decorated defender was, according to sources close to him and Swallows, told he was no longer needed in the club.
This happened just like it did to his former veteran teammates Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko, Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze, and Felix ‘Fela’ Badenhorst, who all left the red and white in unexpected ways.
However, for Mabila, it has been hardly a week since he was informed about the decision to release him.
“He has been recalled by management following a social media spat by supporters. How can you Kingsley and then release Mabila when we don’t even hear about new players,” said an impeccable source.

The source said Mabila was expected to report for training again on Wednesday after missing the last few days. Meanwhile, Mabila joined Swallows in the 2011 season.
He has been an important player for the Beautiful Birds in most of their successes, domestically and beyond in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup in 2017 and 2018. He has also won nearly every trophy on offer before the MoMo Cup, 8Bet Trade Fair Cup 2025 with Swallows.
Swallows Public Relations Officer (PRO) Knowledge ‘Bhambo’ Ngwenya affirmed the recall.
“Yes, he is back,” he responded.
The latest development also means Mabila will be travelling with the club to Angola early next month.
