[6:09 am, 12/08/2025] Lwazi Giggs Dlamini : CLASH OF THE ‘BIRDS’: The drama is on once again at Mbabane Swallows.

Two different management committees and two different teams, all Mbabane Swallows, but one PTY, Ltd and the other FC, have written to the Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Ministry requesting the usage of Somhlolo National Stadium in Lobamba as their home venue for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

Representing Swallows PTY is the club President Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko, while for Swallows FC, club Governor Welile Mabuza signed the letter to the ministry.

In both letters, the country’s rejuvenated soccer Mecca is the subject. Both Nhleko and Mabuza specify their request to be able to use the venue as their home ground for the new season, following its availability for domestic activities.

This happens in the wake of a wagging dispute between current management, supporters and former club boss’s widow, Princess Lungile’s faction.

The latter expects to a handover from the current management following agreements reached mid-season with the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE).

The latter had mediated in the impasse when it started last season. Just on Sunday, police stopped a Swallows supporters’ meeting with a legal order.

The current management which Mabuza is a part of, recently unveiled Mozambican investor Donaldo Birage Enterprises who promised to inject E3 million into the side. However, this investment is yet to show, with supporters doubting it.Search on web
