The Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Savannah Maziya, has officially launched the Future Pioneers STEM Mentorship Program aimed at equipping Eswatini’s youth with skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), innovation, and leadership.
Speaking during an event earlier this month Minister Maziya emphasized the program’s role in preparing young people to take active roles in shaping the nation’s digital future.
“This initiative is designed to nurture talent and provide mentorship opportunities that will allow our youth to lead innovation locally and beyond,” she said.
The program will offer participants guidance from industry professionals, training workshops, and practical opportunities to develop their skills. Registration is currently open to young Eswatini nationals eager to explore careers in STEM fields.
Minister Maziya noted that empowering young people with these skills is critical as Eswatini moves toward a knowledge-based economy.
“Investing in our youth through programs like Future Pioneers will position Eswatini competitively in the global digital landscape,” she added.

The initiative also aims to bridge the gap between education and employment by linking mentees with potential employers in technology and innovation sectors.
Interested youths are encouraged to register via the online application form provided by the Ministry, with slots available for various mentorship tracks.
“This program is a gateway for the youth to not only dream but to actively participate in building a modern, innovative Eswatini,” Minister Maziya concluded.
