As the raging ownership wrangle unfolds, Mbabane Swallows FC has come out to say the club does not belong to the Gamedzes.

In a long statement posted last evening, Swallows FC President Absalom Ngwenya sought to clarify the situation that has seen one faction go with Princess Lungile and her management committee (MC), in which team legend Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko is the President.

The latest statement of clarity follows both Mbabane Swallows FC and Mbabane Swallows PTY, LTD applying for registration at the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) and also applying for the usage of Somhlolo National Stadium as their home venue for the 2025/26 season with the Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Ministry under their separate management.

Ngwenya wastes no time in putting it that the late Swallows boss, Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze and his family do not own Mbabane Swallows FC, never have and never will.

It is worth mentioning that Swallows PTY holds the team’s shares worth millions from their 2017 and 2018 CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Champions League group stage successes,

which Princess Lungile, Gamedze’s widow, is reported to have since transferred to the club’s supporters who had a meeting stopped by the police last Sunday in Malkerns.

Ngwenya also touches on the supporters’ meeting issue and clarifies when and how such meetings can take place.
