Shoppers at Spar and Mica in Matsapha Lifestyle had an exciting surprise yesterday as First National Bank (FNB) Eswatini awarded several customers with instant cashback rewards simply for swiping their bank cards.

In a statement, the bank explained the promotion under the banner “Swipes For The Win”, an initiative aimed at encouraging customers to make use of card payments instead of carrying cash. More than 10 lucky customers walked away with the exact value of their purchases refunded on the spot.

“Why pay cash when your next swipe could win you your money back? Some lucky customers were rewarded with their cash back on the spot just for swiping their FNB card at Spar and Mica in Matsapha Lifestyle on Thursday. #SwipesForTheWin #HelpChangesEverything,” read the official statement.

The campaign comes as part of FNB’s broader drive to promote safer, convenient, and more rewarding banking practices. By choosing to swipe, customers not only avoid the risks associated with handling physical cash but also stand a chance to benefit from exciting promotions like these.

Customers at the Matsapha Lifestyle Centre were visibly thrilled by the initiative. Shoppers who were reimbursed instantly expressed delight at the unexpected savings, while many others expressed renewed interest in using their cards more frequently for purchases.

The bank has indicated that such cashback promotions will continue to roll out at selected outlets across the country, further incentivising card use in everyday transactions.

FNB Eswatini emphasized that digital banking solutions, including card swipes and mobile banking, are central to their mission of making financial services more accessible and rewarding for their customers.

It should be noted that this latest move adds to the bank’s reputation for innovation in customer engagement, highlighting how simple daily habits such as swiping a card can transform into rewarding experiences.
