Limkokwing shuttered following student’s sudden death in road crash

Public Relations Officer of the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology Lucky Mathonsi has said as an institution they were shuttered at the tragic death of one of their students.
“These are very bad news for our institution, and we sadly mourn the passing of one of our own who had a very bright future,’ Mathonsi told Eswatini Daily News.
Tragedy struck on Tuesday when a 23-year-old Limkokwing University student lost her life after being hit by a speeding vehicle which lost control along the MR3 public road near Sidvwashini, Ngwenya Lane.
According to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity, the student had been walking from a nearby hiking spot after allegedly beinging left behind by her sister.
The student, who resided at Esitibeni, was making her way along the highway and had just passed the flyover bridge when the incident occurred. Witnesses claimed the Toyota Fortuner struck her not once but twice, fatally wounding her on the spot.

The Royal Eswatini Police Service, however, provided official details confirming the accident. Deputy Chief Police Information and Communication Officer, Assistant Superintendent Nosipho Mnguni, reported:
“On 23/09/2025 at 1015 hours at or near Sidvwashini, Ngwenya lane along MR3 public road, a Toyota Fortuner vehicle, driven by a 27-year-old man of Manzana, lost control of the motor vehicle, veered off the road and knocked down a 23-year-old female pedestrian before overturning.
The pedestrian sustained serious body injuries and was conveyed to Mbabane Government Hospital where she was certified dead upon arrival.
The driver of the motor vehicle sustained head injuries and was treated and discharged at Mbabane Government Hospital. The motor vehicle has multiple damages.”
The accident left fellow students devastated. Some of her colleagues who spoke on condition of anonymity with this publication say that the deceased was left behind by her sister whom she always travels with after classes.
“After classes on Tuesday, her sister told her that she was hurrying to the house as she was tired and left the deceased behind before she met her death,” alleged one of the students in an interview.
