His Majesty King Mswati III has expressed profound appreciation for the enduring partnership between Eswatini and Germany, highlighting the substantial benefits this collaboration has brought to the kingdom’s development.

Speaking through His Royal Highness Prince Guduza, who represented the King at the German Day of Unity celebration on October 22, 2025, at the Summerfield Botanical Garden,

His Majesty underscored the pivotal role the bilateral relationship has played in advancing key sectors such as education, access to clean water, and cultural development.

The event, hosted by His Excellency Andreas Peschke, the German Ambassador to Eswatini, served as a vibrant platform to celebrate the longstanding and fruitful ties between the two nations.

It provided an opportunity to reflect on the successes of joint initiatives and reaffirm the commitment to continued cooperation for mutual benefit.

In his address, HRH Prince Guduza conveyed the King’s commendation of the robust relations that have flourished over the years.

“The collaboration between our nations has proven invaluable, particularly in education, access to clean water, the arts and other areas pivotal to our development,” he remarked.

This encapsulates the depth and breadth of the partnership, which has transcended diplomatic formalities to deliver tangible improvements in the lives of Eswatini’s citizens.

One of the flagship projects exemplifying this cooperation is the Lomahasha-Namaacha Cross-border Water Supply Project. Supported by Germany’s Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KiW), or Reconstruction Loan Corporation, this initiative is implemented through the South African Development Bank and the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

Scheduled to run from 2024 to 2026, the project aims to significantly enhance water access in the border region between Eswatini and Mozambique.

The Lomahasha-Namaacha project seeks to address these issues by improving water infrastructure and ensuring a sustainable supply of clean water.
