Sarnilo, the music sensation from Eswatini, has recently released her much-anticipated EP titled ‘Makuhwalala,’ featuring a standout collaboration with South African rapper Touchline.
The EP, which was met with widespread acclaim, marks a significant milestone in Sarnilo’s burgeoning career and showcases her dynamic range as a singer, songwriter, rapper, and producer.
Announcing the release on social media, Sarnilo expressed her gratitude, saying, “Makuhwalala is officially out, everywhere. Thank you to all the incredible artists, producers, and hands that helped build this.”
The six-track project includes songs such as ‘Lights Off,’ ‘Addict,’ Bad,’ ‘Don’t Be Shy,’ ‘Time,’ and ‘Different Dimensions,’ featuring notable artists like Touchline, Mzwaa, Grixxly, and Nana Magagula.
Sarnilo’s music is distinguished by its eclectic blend of soul, rap, and Afro-centric influences, reflecting her unique bi-cultural heritage.
Born to a Malawian mother and a Swati father, she seamlessly weaves SiSwati and Chichewa languages into her lyrics, creating a rich tapestry of sound that resonates with diverse audiences.

Her musical influences span some of the most iconic black women in music, including Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Sampa The Great, Msaki, and Ami Faku.
These inspirations are evident in her work, which blends introspective storytelling with a fresh, contemporary Afrobeat sensibility.
Sarnilo’s commitment to artistic growth and collaboration has led her to work with acclaimed producers and artists such as Austrian producer Aramboa and South African rapper and poet Zuluboy.
Touchline, whose real name is Thabo Mahlwele, complements Sarnilo’s style with his own brand of lyrical honesty and storytelling.
Hailing from Johannesburg, Touchline has carved out a niche in the South African hip-hop scene with his ability to blend traditional hip-hop with other genres, creating a sound that is both authentic and innovative.
He gained recognition in the late 2010s and continues to build momentum with projects like his latest album, ‘Mambisa Golden Boy.’
