Eswatini’s gospel sensation Nothando Hlophe has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Best Of Africa’ award at the 18th Crown Gospel Music Awards.
Received on Sunday at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban, this accolade highlights her significant contribution to African gospel music and cements her status as one of the continent’s leading voices in the genre.
The Crown Gospel Music Awards, now in its 18th edition, is widely regarded as the premier platform recognising excellence in African gospel music.
The event attracts over 30 top artists and key figures from the gospel music industry, creating a vibrant atmosphere where faith and artistry merge with glamour and style.
The awards ceremony is renowned for its iconic red carpet, celebrity fashion displays, and dynamic stage performances, making it a cultural highlight on the African music calendar.

More than 25 trophies are awarded across various categories, celebrating diverse talents and encouraging artistic courage within the gospel community.

In addition to this prestigious award, Nothando’s latest musical work continues to captivate listeners. Her song “Methodist Medley,” featured on her album ‘A New Dawn,’ has surpassed an impressive 2.9 million views on YouTube.
The album ‘A New Dawn’ was launched on June 7, 2025, at a lively event held at the Mavuso Trade Centre. Alongside “Methodist Medley,” other tracks such as “Sithumela Wena” have also resonated strongly with audiences, accumulating over 770,000 views on YouTube, further demonstrating her widespread appeal.
