Sarnilo’s latest project, the Makuhwalala EP, is enjoying strong early reception, earning more than eight hundred views on YouTube and surpassing one thousand combined streams across major music platforms.

The roll-out marks another step forward for the Mbabane-born artist, whose steady rise continues to draw attention within Eswatini and beyond.

Makuhwalala is a six-track EP that blends soul, Afro-fusion and expressive storytelling. The project captures themes of transition, reflection and emotional growth, giving listeners a deeper look into Sarnilo’s evolving sound.

Its title, which symbolises the onset of dusk or a period of change, mirrors the tone of the music. Each track moves between smooth melodies and warm rhythms, creating a cohesive body of work that shows her range as both a vocalist and a writer.

The EP features collaborations with a mix of producers and artists who help shape its overall feel.

One of the most anticipated songs, ‘Don’t Be Shy’, includes a feature from Nana Magagula, a respected figure in Eswatini’s music landscape.

Their collaboration connects different generations of artistry, adding weight to the project’s identity.

Noteworthy, Makuhwalala’s strong early numbers add to Sarnilo’s growing list of achievements. She began writing music at a young age, starting with poetry and choir performances before transitioning into the contemporary sound she is known for today.

Her ability to move between singing, rapping and spoken word has earned her a reputation for versatility. Over the years, she has worked on singles, collaborations and performances that have shaped her identity as a rising creative force.

Sarnilo and Nana Magagula Unite for New Single ‘Don’t Be Shy.

Her breakthrough moment came when she was selected as part of Spotify’s Fresh Finds Africa class of twenty twenty-four, becoming the first artist from Eswatini to receive the recognition.

The programme introduced her to a wider audience and placed her among promising talents across the continent.

Her track Addict, featuring Mzwaa, was included in the Fresh Finds Africa playlist, giving her international exposure and reinforcing her position as one of the country’s most promising voices.

Following the playlist achievement, she represented Eswatini at the Spotify Africa Writing Camp in Cape Town.

The experience allowed her to work with producers from across the region and contributed to the creation of tracks that expanded her catalogue. These milestones helped set the foundation for Makuhwalala, which now continues that momentum.

The EP’s early performance reflects listeners’ interest in her new direction and the support she continues to gather. With YouTube views climbing and streaming numbers rising across platforms, Makuhwalala is positioning itself as one of Sarnilo’s standout projects.

The response also signals growing appreciation for Eswatini artists who are shaping new sounds for the region.

As Makuhwalala gains more attention, Sarnilo continues building a career grounded in originality, consistency and musical evolution.

The EP adds another chapter to her journey and strengthens her presence in the regional music scene.
