The national under-15 boys’ team has won over E800 000 ($ 50 000) from the COSAFA School Under 15 tournament.
This comes after their third place in the annual international tournament held in Cape Town under the guidance of former Green Mamba and Xi Men in Flight Defender Sifiso ‘Haiso’ Dlamini.
The E853 895 worth cheque was presented to the Eswatini Football Association Chief Executive Officer, Frederick Mngomezulu on Tuesday at the Lobamba Technical Centre.
Mngomezulu congratulated the team for its achievement.
“We are proud of the team’s success, and this shows that the future of the sport is bright in the country. We will ensure that the players graduate in the next national team structure until the elite stages.

We commend the good work that has been done by the technical bench,” he said.
Mngomezulu said they would use the prize money to conduct a development program.
“We will use the prize money to conduct a program in the country that will benefit the sport and communities. This is part of the conditions for the funds from the sponsor,” he said.
Meanwhile, the squad head coach ‘Haiso’ Dlamini said they are happy with the achievement of the team.
“We are proud of the team, and this shows that the future of the sport is bright. I believe we can do better as a country if we can have enough preparations for international competitions,” he said.
