Cabinet strengthens unity through first ever team-building exercise

Eswatini’s Cabinet of Ministers convened at Sibebe Resort from Monday, December 15, to Tuesday, December 16, 2025, for their first-ever team-building exercise since assuming office in November 2023.

The two-day exercise was disclosed by Acting Government Spokesperson Thabile Mdluli, who said the exercise marked an important step in enhancing collective leadership and reinforcing shared values among members of Cabinet.

Held under the theme “One Nation, One Team,” the exercise provided Cabinet Ministers with a structured platform to reflect on their collective working experience since taking office, to openly address perceived differences, and to reaffirm the oath of service that underpins their responsibility to the nation.

The exercise was designed to encourage honest introspection and constructive engagement, with a view to improving coordination and collaboration in the execution of government business.

Mdluli said the programme focused on strengthening both individual and collective capacity within Cabinet. Key areas of engagement included personal mastery in public service,

emotional intelligence, effective communication, trust-building and unity, all of which are considered critical to effective governance. Ministers also participated in sessions on professional excellence,

systems alignment and constructive conflict management, aimed at enhancing their ability to work cohesively while navigating complex policy and administrative environments.

The programme was delivered through a combination of structured lessons, interactive discussions and team-based activities. The retreat also underscored the importance of values-based leadership.

At the conclusion of the two-day engagement, Cabinet Ministers emerged re-energised and united by a renewed sense of purpose, Mdluli said.

The retreat reaffirmed their collective resolve to continue serving the Kingdom of Eswatini with loyalty and integrity, placing emaSwati and Their Majesties at the centre of all government action and decision-making.
