Mbabane Highlanders’ Patrons have thrown full support behind the club’s new President, Shauwn Mkhize.

The capital city giants’ veteran, through their Chairman Thembinkosi Mamba, says the South African businesswoman can run the club.

This is contained in the answering affidavits in their ownership battle at the High Court against estranged Boss Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane.

Simelane is demanding his reinstatement as Highlanders President following the recent termination of his 18 months contract through SM Jele Attorneys.

“The second respondent can fulfill all the obligations under the contract, including the remuneration of players. A court may not grant the remedy of specific performance if it will give rise to hardship.

The applicant failed to pay the salaries of the football players and technical staff,” Mamba said.

The Chairman of the Patrons further averred that the reinstatement of Simelane could cause hardships to players and Coaches.

“To require that the team be returned to the applicant would create undue hardship, particularly in respect of issues such as welfare, numeration, and welfare,” Mamba said.

The Patrons are represented by Emmanuel Shabangu from Robinson & Betrams Attorneys.

Mkhize is cited as the second respondent on the matter, with the Premier League of Eswatini and Eswatini Football Association cited as fourth and fifth respondents on the matter.

The matter was postponed to August 21, 2025, by Judge Titus Mlangeni.
