Mbalenhle Manana celebrated among Africa’s Top 100 women achievers
The remarkable power and resilience of African women took centre stage recently as
Eswatini’s Mbalenhle Manana was honoured among 100 of the continent’s most
influential female achievers at the prestigious She Reigns Africa Network Summit and
African Women Achievers Award 2025.
This landmark event celebrated women who have broken barriers, led industries, and
inspired communities across Africa, highlighting their extraordinary contributions to
society. Founded by Natasha Mncube, a passionate advocate for women’s
empowerment, the summit brought together trailblazers from diverse sectors to share
their journeys, challenges, and visions for the future. Mncube, who also serves as the
Director of the Shining Stars Foundation and Southern Africa Brand Ambassador for the
Zikomo Africa Awards, created this platform to amplify women’s voices and foster a
supportive network that encourages growth and leadership.
Among the honoured was Mbalenhle Manana, a pioneering figure in Eswatini’s fashion
industry and the driving force behind the country’s leading model agency. Her
recognition at the summit underscores her role as a transformative leader who has not
only elevated the fashion scene but also empowered countless young women to pursue
their dreams with confidence. Reflecting on the experience, Manana described the
event as “the best I’ve ever attended,” highlighting the summit’s focus on “Super
Women, Power Houses, trailblazers, and industry leaders” who engage deeply with
issues affecting women across Africa.

The summit went beyond mere celebration; it was a powerful forum for connection and
transformation. Women founders and leaders gathered to discuss shared struggles,
exchange ideas, and celebrate their collective achievements. Manana emphasised the
unique atmosphere of solidarity and empowerment, where participants could openly
address challenges and inspire one another. “We learned that as women, we must rise
above and let our scars become the stars that guide others,” she said. “Transform your
pain into purpose and unleash your inner strength and resilience.”
Central to the summit’s message was the call for women to be “unbroken, unshakable,
and unstoppable”
This mantra resonated deeply with attendees, many of whom have
faced adversity ranging from societal barriers and abuse to doubt and missed
opportunities simply because of their gender. Manana reflected on this shared
experience, reminding women that “our circumstances, background, or past don’t define
our worth.” Instead, she urged embracing the present and future with hope and
determination: “Our tomorrow is brighter; it holds promises and renewed hope.
Yesterday was a lesson; today is a gift, embrace its beauty.”
