Blackburn vs Ipswich to be replayed after rain-hit abandonment
Blackburn’s Championship clash with Ipswich will be replayed in full after Saturday’s match at Ewood Park was abandoned in the 80th minute due to a waterlogged pitch.
Rovers were leading 1-0 and had a numerical advantage after Jacob Greaves’ red card reduced the visitors to 10 men, when referee Steve Martin halted play because of heavy rain. Following a short delay, the game was officially called off.

The EFL confirmed both clubs were consulted before the decision, with Blackburn manager Valerien Ismael arguing his side had “the right to want the three points.”
In a statement, the league said the board had “comprehensively considered all options” but voted for a replay to “uphold the integrity of the competition.” The EFL added it will consult clubs on possible rule changes regarding abandoned matches in future.
