Getting bigger and better.

The prize purse for the 2025 Imbube Marathon has increased to E1 million.

This follows the addition of three more sponsors for the seventh edition of the prestigious road race scheduled for October 18, 2025, at Somhlolo National Stadium.

The new sponsors are Ubombo Sugar (E80 000), Spar (E50 000), and Industrial Development Company of Eswatini (IDCE) (E20 000).
The latest donations were made on Thursday at the Eswatini National Provident Fund Offices in Manzini.

Other sponsors of the event include Standard Bank, who are the main sponsors with a contribution of E350 000.

The financial institution made its contribution during the launch of the race held in April at Happy Valley Hotel.

Eswatini National Provident Fund Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Futhie Tembe thanked sponsors for their continued support.

“We are honoured to stand alongside companies like yourselves who have been our steadfast supporters of this vision since the race started: Ubombo Sugar, IDCE, and the Spar,” she said.

Tembe further Ubombo Sugar for continued support.

“We are truly humbled and grateful to receive your generous sponsorships, namely of Illovo (Ubombo Sugar) of E80,000 for the 2025 Imbube Marathon,

which is a significant increase from your E60,000 contribution in 2023, and it speaks volumes about your belief in the power of this event and your commitment to the well-being of our community,” she said.

The previous edition was won by Umbutfo Eswatini Defense Force runner Mancoba Nhlabatsi.
