Three MTN Premier League games without a win have seen hub giants replace Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe as the head coach.
A new head coach in the name of Gcina Dlamini has taken over as of Thursday morning.

This is barely four days before meeting third-placed Mbabane Highlanders on Sunday in the league’s matchday four (4) at Mavuso Sports Centre.

Dlamini started drilling the team on Thursday morning and showed up at the pre-match press conference held at Sigwaca House, Mbabane, on the same day.

“I could have started on Monday but was able to do that on Thursday morning. I’m impressed with what I saw as the players’ spirit was okay.

“The mandate for me is to get a top 8 finish, and I think with a personal target of 36 points, position six is possible,” said Dlamini.
On the Highlanders match, Dlamini said they knew each other well with his rival coach Ernest Mavuso.

“We can beat Highlanders and also get the top 8 finish. If we can’t win on Sunday, at least a draw will be fine. I can promise the fans entertaining football as they already know the coaches’ style of play,” said Dlamini.

Meanwhile, Dlamini will still get advice from his predecessor, Hlophe. The latter has been elevated to the Technical Director (TD) position, while Christian Thwala is the physical trainer.

Furthermore, Dlamini joins Wanderers from Ubombo Sugar FC, who he leaves with four points, three behind leaders Malanti Chiefs and three ahead of Wanderers who have one and sit on 15th in the standings. This is after three games apiece.

Dlamini has also coached Manzini Sea Birds and Moneni Pirates before.

Meanwhile, Mavuso said they were not at ease due to the opposition’s poor run.

“The Wanderers poor run is giving us sleepless nights. They also have a new coach, but at least we know him and are already preparing towards countering that,” he said.

Mavuso invites fans to come in numbers as a great game of football was on the cards. He said they were going to do their best to keep the winning momentum going after to consecutive wins against Manzini Sea Birds and Amawele.
