His Majesty King Mswati III has returned home following official engagements in South Africa and Malaysia, where he pursued regional cooperation and investment opportunities for Eswatini.
The King arrived at King Mswati III International Airport accompanied by Inkhosikati LaFogiyane, where he was welcomed by Emakhosikati, members of the Royal Family, Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers, parliamentarians, members of various advisory councils and members of the public.
His Majesty had earlier attended the 46th SADC Heads of State and Government Summit in Durban, South Africa, before travelling to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for an official visit.
During his Malaysia visit, the King engaged with Malaysian business and investment interests on opportunities in Eswatini, including infrastructure and railway development.
He invited Malaysian railway manufacturer SMH Rail to consider establishing its Southern African base in Eswatini.
Discussions also touched on a major road development project expected to surface about 250 kilometres of untarred roads across Eswatini’s four regions, while the King encouraged emaSwati students in Malaysia to make the most of their education and technological exposure and use their skills to contribute to national development.
His Majesty’s return marks the conclusion of a series of regional and international engagements focused on strengthening cooperation, attracting investment and advancing Eswatini’s development interests.
