The Matsapha Town Council has officially appointed Sizwe Dlamini as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), ending eight months without substantive leadership at the municipality.

The appointment was announced during a press briefing in Matsapha on Monday, by Mayor Lindiwe Dlamini, in the presence of the Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Apollo Maphalala. Dlamini joins the council from the Manzini Municipal Council, where he served as Head of Strategy. He now takes over from Acting CEO Mancoba Zwane, who had been leading the institution since late 2025 following the retirement of long-serving CEO Lucky Sukati.

Mayor Lindiwe Dlamini said the municipality had gone almost eight months without a permanent CEO but expressed confidence that the new appointment would strengthen leadership and improve service delivery.
Sizwe Dlamini brings experience in local government strategy and urban development, having worked extensively within municipal planning structures.

His academic background includes qualifications from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University, the University of Stellenbosch Business School, and the University of Eswatini. Minister Appolo Maphalala congratulated the municipality for completing its recruitment process and appointing a candidate of the required calibre, marking a new phase for Matsapha’s administration.
