Arsenal Confident Over Havertz Recovery Following Knee Surgery
Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has undergone knee surgery, but the club remain confident the Germany international will return to action in a matter of weeks rather than months.
The 26-year-old missed Arsenal’s 5–0 victory over Leeds at the Emirates last weekend after sustaining the injury during the Gunners’ opening-day win at Manchester United.

In a statement released on Thursday, Arsenal confirmed Havertz had undergone a “minor surgical procedure” following specialist consultations.
“Today, Kai underwent a successful operation on his knee,” the club said. “He will now begin his recovery and rehabilitation programme, with all efforts focused on ensuring he returns to full fitness as soon as possible.”
Havertz’s setback came just before Arsenal hijacked Tottenham’s pursuit of Eberechi Eze, signing the England international from Crystal Palace in a deal worth an initial £60 million. Eze was unveiled to the Emirates faithful before the Leeds clash and is expected to make his debut on Sunday against reigning champions Liverpool at Anfield, as Arsenal continue their pursuit of a first Premier League title in 22 years.
Mikel Arteta’s squad, however, faces significant injury concerns. Alongside Havertz, the Gunners will be without Bukayo Saka (hamstring) and Martin Ødegaard (ankle), both injured against Leeds. Christian Nørgaard and Ben White are doubtful, while Gabriel Jesus remains sidelined with a long-term knee problem.
