Malawi’s Elections: A Regional Priority

The Malawian General Elections, set for 16 September 2025, are expected to be closely watched across the region. SADC’s involvement through its Electoral Observation Mission is designed to enhance confidence in the electoral process and to help prevent disputes that may arise from the outcome.

The mission, led by Masuku, will be tasked with observing pre-election preparations, the voting process itself, and the post-election environment, before compiling a detailed report and recommendations in line with SADC protocols.

By leading this delegation, Eswatini steps firmly into the spotlight of regional diplomacy, reinforcing the Kingdom’s long-standing commitment to peace, democracy, and cooperative governance.
